Called to Be the Body

What does it mean to truly walk in the fullness of what we have been called to? Ephesians 4 pulls back the curtain on something remarkable: the gifts Christ gave to his people were not random or accidental. They were the result of a conquering King who descended from heaven's glory, defeated the enemy, and distributed the spoils of victory directly to us. Just as a victorious king in ancient times would share the plunder of battle with his people, Christ himself apportioned gifts to every member of his body. The staggering truth is that these gifts were not earned and cannot be wrestled away from God's hand. They are already woven into who we are. The message challenges us to stop thinking of serving as something optional and start recognizing it as the very purpose for which we were fearfully and wonderfully made. When we step into our gifting, we are not doing God a favor. We are simply walking in what cost heaven everything. The question that lingers is this: are we exercising what we have been given, or are we leaving it dormant?
