Here I Am, Send Me

What happens when we catch a genuine glimpse of who God truly is? In Isaiah 6, we are invited into one of the most breathtaking moments in all of Scripture, where the prophet Isaiah stands before the throne of God and is utterly undone. The seraphim cry out 'holy, holy, holy,' and the very thresholds shake at the sound of their voices. This is not a tame or distant God we are talking about, but a God of such overwhelming majesty that even the most powerful heavenly creatures must cover their faces in his presence. The central lesson here is one of perspective. When Isaiah saw God enthroned, every earthly concern, every political anxiety, every source of false security simply faded away. The same is available to us. When we fix our hearts and minds on the reality of who God is, our circumstances do not disappear, but they are suddenly seen in their proper proportion against the backdrop of an eternal, unshakeable kingdom. The passage also takes us through a powerful sequence: seeing God's holiness, recognizing our own brokenness, receiving grace, and then responding with willingness to be sent. That sequence is not just Isaiah's story. It is the blueprint for every life transformed by a genuine encounter with the living God.
