Serve Sunday

What does it truly mean to be part of the body of Christ? In Acts 2:42-47, we find a blueprint for the early church that is just as alive and relevant for us today as it was for those first three thousand believers. Four foundational pillars held that community together: devotion to teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. And the key word is devoted. Not casually interested. Not occasionally present. Devoted, with intensity and persistence. When we anchor ourselves to the Word of God, we begin to see the bigger picture, that life in the body is not about us. It is about Him and about one another. The Word corrects us, washes us, and sharpens us, cutting through to the very thoughts and attitudes of our hearts. When we let it do that work in us, serving stops feeling like an obligation and starts feeling like a natural overflow of who we are in Christ. The early church did not need a strategy meeting to figure out how to care for each other. The Holy Spirit moved them. That same Spirit is available to us now.
